RAW-NYC Architects asked Timbur for assistance in developing, fabricating and installing a custom 3-dimensional triangular tessellated millwork system for NYC based audio recording company Sonic Union’s new studio in Union Square. Details needed to be developed for the panel joinery and a system was needed for assembling and installing it into their existing space. We developed a custom 3-axis CNC machining strategy for producing discrete angled miter cuts at each panel to panel connection and a parametrically generated rib structure. Our scope on this project included field measurements, design development, fabrication, delivery and installation.
