A worldwide property management firm recruited Timbur for assistance with a wood lamella floor signage concept they were developing and wanted to prototype in one of their NY properties. The system needed to indicate the floor number, provide local illumination, be shop fabricated, meet building and fire codes and be installed by a local GC. We developed a system of White Oak wood slat wall panels that were CNC machined, assembled in our shop, finished to achieve a class A fire rating, pre-wired with LED lighting and easily broken down for shipping. We also worked closely with the client and GC to develop construction details and a set of drawings that clearly indicated how the panels were to be installed.
